The head of Iran’s Zoroastrian community, Dr. Mehraban Puladi, is on a religious and cultural tour in India. On Monday, he visited the three-century-old Bhikha Behram well at Churchgate, an important place of worship of the local Parsi-Zoroastrian community.

Puladi is from the Mobedan lineage of the Dasturan quarter in Yazd, a family seen as the custodians of the Zoroastrian community. He is a Civil Engineer and has a doctorate in ancient Iranian culture and languages. Iran, the birthplace of the Zoroastrian religion, now has an estimated 22,000 followers. He is credited with the founding of the Museum of Zoroastrian Documents and Manuscripts, housed in the Dasturan quarter.
================================

Had the pleasure to meet Mobed Dr. Mehraban Puladi of Tehran and Professor Saloumeh Gholami at the Bombay Parsi Panchayet Board meeting.
For those amongst you who be be interested in knowing, Mōbed Dr. Mehrabān Pūlādī, the son of Kayhosrow Mehrabān Pūlād Tīrāndāz, traces his ancestry back to the distinguished Mōbedān lineage of the Dastūrān quarter in Yazd, a family that has long stood as custodians of Zoroastrian community.
His life has been a delicate balance between the practicalities of modernity and the pull of ancestral duty, reflected in his dual pursuit of Civil Engineering and the study of Ancient Iranian Culture and Languages, eventually earning a doctorate.
Now he serves as the President of the Anjomān-e Mōbedān, the highest religious authority for Iranian Zoroastrians. He has stood as a bulwark, labouring tirelessly to preserve the crumbling fragments of community’s written and oral legacy within Iran. His efforts are not merely academic or distant; they are grounded in action. Among his most significant accomplishments is the founding of the Museum of Zoroastrian Documents and Manuscripts, housed in the Dastūrān quarter itself.
